During the procedure, intense pulses of light are applied to the skin, which heats up and destroys the melanin-producing cells responsible for pigmentation. Over time, the treated areas will fade and blend with the surrounding skin, resulting in a more even complexion. Multiple sessions may be needed for optimal results, and it's essential to protect the skin from sun exposure before and after treatment to prevent further pigmentation. IPL is generally safe when performed by a qualified professional, but some mild side effects like redness and swelling may occur temporarily.
